Meet Emma From Sojourn And Check Out The Swag!

Finisher Sock Preview

We're really excited to share a sneak preview of our finisher socks. This year we wanted to go with a bold iconographic approach combined with fun high contrasting colours, all on a comfortable and durable sock. We don't want to spoil the surprise of running toward your finisher prize socks but we do want to share some of the exciting elements that are on this year's, 15th anniversary 🅿️☠️🅿️ socks!

The Running Shoe: What's a trail race without shoes! We chose this icon to represent the fun of the run and the relationship we have with the gear that helps us do it!

The Skull: It wouldn't be 🅿️☠️🅿️ without a skull! This symbol has worked its way into our race culture from the classic "poison" symbol which features a skull.

The Bee: A tradition that has been kept across 15 years of 🅿️☠️🅿️ is giving our runners a jar of local Orillia honey made, with pride, by a farmer named Paul. More recently he's started including jars of creamed honey, and we're excited again to offer a variety of regular and creamed honey at kit pickup.

15: Finally, to honour 15 years of inclusive trail running suitable for beginners yet exciting for veterans, we've included the number 15. Happy 15th birthday 🅿️🥳🅿️

I know what you're saying - how can a bunch of little icons make up a sock? To find out, you'll have to finish the race distance for which you registered. Cross that finish line and a volunteer will do a personal sock reveal, just for you!

Shirt Preview

Each year, 🅿️☠️🅿️ is excited to bring you a great race garment to commemorate your race day and to show off to the gang on your summer training runs. When race directors, Trish and Rhonda asked me how I was going to out-do last year's amazing garment, I answered, "easy - I'll trust the good people at Screen Machine!"

In collaboration with our friends at Orillia based Screen Machine Promotions, we've come up with the most epic shirt design ever!! 🅿️☠️🅿️ has been using this great local vendor since the race was founded in 2010 and our runners proudly show off their fun, durable run shirts that last wash cycle after wash cycle! Above is just a little preview, because our race shirt model Phil (Trish's dad) is very excited to once again do the full reveal of our shirt. This local supermodel has been planning his venue and reveal moves all winter so stay tuned for the full shirt reveal coming in April!

Sojourn Outdoors Joins Again As Podium Prize Sponsors

We can't share enough love for Sojourn Outdoors in Barrie. They are once again helping us with some great prizes for our top finishers. They're also helping us host our pre-race kit pickup out of their location just off highway 400 on April 25th. This exciting and colourful adventure store is a fun place to come grab your race kit and snag any last minute race gear needs like cups or hydration flasks. As a woman owned business, we love their values of sustainability and quality gear with an emphasis on Canadian first. Be sure to check out their outstanding trail shoe collection.

Win A Free Entry

Here's your chance to check out Sojourn! Starting this week, Sojourn is giving you a chance to win a FREE entry to this year's 🅿️☠️🅿️. Drop into their store and fill out a ballot for a chance to join us in the beautiful woods of Copeland forest on April 26. Looking to get yourself new trail shoes for the 2025 season? Support a Canadian business and visit Sojourn! Draw takes place on April 11. Already have a 2025 entry? If you win, you can gift it to your trail running buddy and have a friend suffer with you on race day! Or keep it for yourself, register and then defer that entry to 2026 - BAM, you're good to go for 2 years of 🅿️☠️🅿️!

Deferral deadline

Speaking of deferrals, don't forget to make any distance changes before midnight EST on April 15. Sometimes, training doesn't go as well as you expected over the winter, but before deferring (and missing out on the 15th anniversary swag) consider dropping down a distance instead. 12.5k and 25k racers have the same amount of time to finish as the 50k runners.

Meet Emma, 🅿️☠️🅿️ Trail Ambassador for Sojourn

We are very excited to sit down with new Sojourn staff member Emma who has been sharing her training journey leading up to 🅿️☠️🅿️ on Sojourn's social. Emma has some running experience but her longest race to date has been a 5k distance. She's signed up for the 12.5k, which will be more than twice the farthest she's ever run! Her training has been going great so far and we got the get to learn more about her run journey. Join us as we chat about her gear choices, and get some more details about how she's doing with her training as we're just over a month out from 🅿️☠️🅿️. Check it out and stay tuned to our social for more with Emma.
